EDGE OF ENTREPRENEURIALISM
CFJCT and JEDEX have partnered to bring you an evening that will harness the speed and innovative edge of the venture capitalist spirit. Get up close in a Q&A session with renowned tech business giant Mark Skapinker, who’s had a hand in shaping computer software you probably don’t even realize you’ve used. But beyond the allure and struggles of growing a tech baby from nada, adopt the entrepreneurial mindset of how to turn ‘method amidst madness’ in any rapidly-evolving field into something lasting — for the benefit of your community, for others, and for yourself.
Mark Skapinker | Co-Founder, Managing Partner of Brightspark Ventures
Mark Skapinker has been a pillar in the Canadian software industry since the inception of personal computing. He made waves by co-founding Delrina Corporation in 1988 recognized as one of Canada’s most successful software companies, and for producing WinFax, one of the most popular Windows programs of all time. His latest vision, Brightspark Ventures, invests to build and grow promising early-stage software companies with great success. Not only does he passionately share insights about the scope and magnitude of constructing thriving companies from the ground up, but Mark is exceptionally dedicated to community building through core Jewish values: His own South African heritage motivated him to teach Jewish values to South African youth throughHabonim, while his rewarding venture Upside Foundation of Canada encourages Canadian start-ups to give back to society through corporate philanthropy.
